ABOUT SPM

SPM PRINCIPLES
Students are rewarded if they adhere to the SPM principles when playing
Respect / Sportsmanship:
This is respecting the equipment, rules, and pupils. Respect in other words is a form of being nice and thoughtful. Sportsmanship is very similar but using those respect traits with someone that your unfamiliar with such as the opposition.
Teamwork:
Not every sport can be played alone. Not every task can be completed alone. We encourage students to use their teammates to achieve an objective.
One person can take 100 shots, but that person needs their teammates to support them to get into a position for 100 shots. Praise those who are willing to show empathy and teamwork to others.
Effective communication:
This is key in sports & everyday life. Knowing how to speak to people to receive a positive response, Providing the right information to peers to support others. Helping someone get better via communicating helps each individual and is a sign of respect.
Leadership:
Everyone can be a leader. Being a leader is about listening to others and providing key information that will benefit those around you. Being a leader is about using your initiative and putting others ahead of you when necessary.
Helping people help you is a key trait of being a leader. We Encourage and praise whenever we see signs of leadership.
Work ethic:
This principle is hugely important. Without hard work, objectives won’t be met, students won’t be having fun and the session will feel like a soulless environment. We encourage, praise, and reward the hard workers. Work hard for yourself and your team. Make yourself proud of our work rate.
Meet Your SPM Team
MIKE - CEO/DIRECTOR
Hi, I’m Michael Cooper, CEO of SportsPlayMotion and Director of Motion4Kids. My journey with sports began when I moved from Germany to England at the age of 11. Adapting to a new country and financial constraints made things challenging, but sports became my refuge. Through school PE, amateur football, and boxing, I found not only solace but also crucial life skills like leadership, teamwork, and resilience.
Sports provided me with a sense of belonging and a way to connect with others during a time of high tension and conflict. This experience has shaped my commitment to using sports as a means to foster safety, build community, and create opportunities for diverse youth. I’m passionate about the role sports play in uniting people and making a positive impact, and I’m dedicated to driving these values forward through SportsPlayMotion and Motion4Kids.
